Temperatures can vary by 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit from mountain base to top, and clear skies lower down do not guarantee equally pleasant weather at higher elevations.

Foothills Parkway East temporarily closed due to icy conditions.

Cades Cove Loop Road closures February 23-27
Cades Cove Loop Road will be closed to all users February 23-27 for hazard tree removal. Trails around the loop are not technically closed, but visitors cannot access the trails via Cades Cove Loop Road. The road will reopen at 12 PM on Friday and remain open through the weekend during regular hours (sunrise to sunset).
