PARK CLOSURE
Campfire ban and fire restrictions in effect parkwide
Due to high fire danger and active wildfires across northeast Minnesota, Voyageurs National Park will implement increased fire restrictions. The restrictions will remain in effect until rescinded. Under this restriction, the ignition, building, maintaining, attending, or use of campfires is prohibited within the park. This includes charcoal grills, barbecues, and any fires fueled by wood or charcoal. These restrictions align with broader state and regional restrictions.

Partial boat launch closure at Kabetogama Lake Aug 17-21
The boat launch at Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center will be partially closed Aug 17-21 to deploy construction vessels. The south lane will remain open; the north lane will be closed. Delays are likely. This work, funded by the Great American Outdoors Act Legacy Restoration Fund, replaces an aging underwater powerline to the historic Kettle Falls area. Thank you for your patience during this project while we improve safety and communication reliability at one of the park’s iconic destinations.
